Hibernian reject St Johnstone additional ticket request ahead of VAR curtain raiser

HIBERNIAN have rejected a request from St Johnstone for more tickets for Friday night's VAR showdown at Easter Road.

The pair are set to lock horns under the lights in the Premiership and the tie will see the first use of video technology in the Scottish game.

Saints have sold out their initial allocation for the clash and today requested more tickets.

A statement read: "Hibernian have today informed us they will not be opening the upper stand for away fans. This means that our current allocation of 1,058 is sold out.

“However, we have contacted Hibernian and asked them to reconsider. We have asked for extra tickets to cope with the demand from our supporters. We remain in dialogue with the Easter Road club to ensure as many of our supporters as possible can attend the SPFL Premiership match this Friday evening.

"We appreciate the efforts from everyone at Hibernian to help meet our request and we will keep our supporters updated."

Hibernian have confirmed to Herald and Times Sport that no additional tickets will be made available for St Johnstone, due to the game being close to a sell-out.
