Hibernian are close to appointing Nick Montgomery, the current coach of A-League side Central Coast Mariners, as their new manager.
The former Scotland under-21 international is expected to be confirmed as the next boss of the Edinburgh club.
Montgomery guided the Mariners to the Australian title last season on the lowest budget in the division.
He would replace Lee Johnson, who was sacked after Hibs lost their first three league games of the season and were also beaten 5-0 by Aston Villa in the first leg of their Europa Conference League playoff tie.
The 41-year-old, who also played for Sheffield United, has been head coach of the A-League side since 2021, having previously served as assistant manager after playing for the club.
Several Scottish Premiership managers have been linked with the role, including Derek McInnes of Kilmarnock, St Mirren's Stephen Robinson and Ross County boss Malky Mackay.
Ex-Easter Road boss Neil Lennon has also clarified his interest in the position.
Australia manager Graham Arnold recently confirmed he received an approach from Hibs but is keen to stay put.
He told outlet Keep Up: "I have to say it was an honour that Hibs rang me and offered me the job but I’ve got a job to do here. I will say that I love coaching my nation and I feel that I have a great job.
"For me, it’s all about Mexico and getting ourselves ready for that, and developing and helping the boys here in Australia.
"I spoke to (Hibs’) owner (but) at this moment, the timing’s not right. I have a job on my hands here and my full focus is on the Socceroos."
