Hibernian assistant manager Eddie May is in a stable condition after being rushed to hospital following a serious road traffic accident on his way to training this morning [Wednesday, February 19].
The 57-year-old Easter Road legend was involved in a crash on the A68 near Pathhead, Midlothian, just after 7.30am.
Emergency services raced to the scene, and May was taken by paramedics to the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh, where he underwent various scans for his injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle involved has been charged. The road was closed for several hours as police carried out their investigation.

In a statement providing an update on May’s wellbeing, a Hibs spokesperson said: “Hibernian FC can confirm that Eddie May is in a stable condition following a road traffic accident earlier today.
“At this time, we kindly ask everyone to respect the privacy of Eddie and his family.
“Everyone at the Club wishes him a speedy recovery.”
