HGV lorry plunges off Scots road after crashing with car head-on

A lorry has plunged off of the road after crashing with a car head-on.

Officers rushed to the scene on the A77, at Carlock Wall, just south of Ballantrae at around 4.10pm on Tuesday, 1 February, 2022.

The HGV had been travelling south at the time while the black hatchback car had been travelling north, according to witnesses.

They added that the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) and Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) were also at the location.

While the car was completely destroyed as a result of the collision, police confirmed that nobody was injured.

The road was closed for some time and has since been opened with a contraflow to allow time for recovery.
