Hezbollah's acting leader issued a defiant statement on Tuesday, warning that more Israelis would be displaced as the militant group intensifies its rocket attacks deeper into Israel. The statement was made on the anniversary of the conflict that led to last month's war escalation.
Sheikh Naim Kassem emphasized that despite sustained Israeli airstrikes, Hezbollah's capabilities remain intact. He highlighted the group's continued use of rockets and drones, targeting numerous Israeli settlements and cities. Kassem asserted that Hezbollah's fighters are actively engaged on the frontlines.
Kassem also stated that Hezbollah's senior leadership is overseeing the conflict, with replacements appointed for commanders killed in Israeli airstrikes. He assured that there are no vacant leadership positions within the organization.
Regarding the succession of leadership following the death of Hassan Nasrallah in an Israeli airstrike, Kassem mentioned that a new leader would be named. However, he acknowledged the challenges posed by the ongoing war.
