Hezbollah launched a barrage of 140 rockets at northern Israel on Friday, following a vow by the group's leader Hassan Nasrallah to retaliate against Israel for a mass bombing attack. The Israeli military confirmed the rocket attacks, which came in three waves targeting sites along the border with Lebanon.

In response, the Israeli military carried out strikes across southern Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah infrastructure. The extent of the damage caused by these strikes was not immediately disclosed.

Hezbollah claimed that their rockets targeted several sites along the border using Katyusha rockets, including air defense bases and the headquarters of an Israeli armored brigade. The Israeli military reported intercepting some of the 120 missiles launched at areas in the Golan Heights, Safed, and the Upper Galilee.

No casualties were reported from the rocket attacks, although fire crews were dispatched to extinguish blazes caused by falling debris in various areas. Additionally, 20 missiles were fired at Meron and Netua, with most landing in open areas and causing no injuries.

Hezbollah stated that the rocket attacks were in retaliation for Israeli strikes on villages and homes in southern Lebanon, following explosions in Hezbollah communication devices earlier in the week. The ongoing exchanges of fire between Hezbollah and Israel have escalated tensions, raising concerns of a potential all-out war.

Meanwhile, in Gaza, Palestinian authorities reported 15 people killed in multiple Israeli attacks, including airstrikes that hit residential areas. The conflict in Gaza has resulted in over 41,000 Palestinian deaths and more than 95,000 injuries since the outbreak of hostilities on Oct. 7.

The war has caused widespread destruction and displacement, with approximately 90% of Gaza's population of 2.3 million being displaced. The situation remains volatile, with both sides continuing to engage in military actions amid escalating casualties and destruction.
