Hezbollah launched a barrage of rockets into the city of Haifa in northern Israel, resulting in at least six injuries. The Iran-backed militant group targeted Israel’s Carmel military base, with rockets and shrapnel hitting various areas of the city.
Rambam Hospital in Haifa reported treating six individuals injured in the attack. One person was described as 'lightly to moderately injured,' while four others sustained 'light' injuries from shrapnel. Additionally, one person experienced anxiety but remained conscious.
Emergency services also attended to two individuals at the scene. A 13-year-old boy suffered a head injury from shrapnel, while a 22-year-old man was struck by a falling window due to the blast.
This incident marks the first time rockets have struck Haifa during the current conflict between Israel and Hezbollah. Police and bomb disposal experts have identified debris and shrapnel in two primary areas of the city.
The Israel Defense Forces confirmed spotting five projectiles aimed at Haifa and attempted interception, but some rockets successfully landed. Israeli officials reported over 100 rockets fired by Hezbollah across the border, prompting Israel to continue its bombing campaign in southern Beirut and surrounding regions of Lebanon.
