Israeli police have reported significant damage in northern Israel following a Hezbollah rocket barrage on Friday. The Israeli military had earlier identified nearly two dozen projectiles crossing into Israeli territory from Lebanon.

Police officials confirmed reports of rocket fire impacting several areas across Kiryat Shmona and the Lower Galilee, resulting in heavy damage. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries despite several fires breaking out in the affected areas.

Police officers and bomb disposal teams are currently at the scenes of the strikes, assessing the situation and ensuring public safety. Firefighting teams are actively working to extinguish fires, including one that broke out in a garage in Kiryat Shmona after a direct hit.

A statement from the Fire and Rescue Services indicated that firefighters are focused on preventing the fire from spreading to nearby buildings and are also conducting search operations for any potential injured individuals.

The rocket strikes came after warning sirens sounded in Kiryat Shmona and nearby communities, prompting residents to seek shelter. Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the rocket barrage, stating that it was in defense of Lebanon and its people, retaliating against what they described as Israeli assaults on cities, villages, and civilians.
