Hezbollah launched barrages of rockets toward Israel on Thursday, prompting the Israeli military to respond with fresh strikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut and infrastructure along the Lebanon-Syrian border. The Israel Defense Forces reported more than 150 projectiles were fired toward Israel, triggering sirens across northern Israel throughout the day.
Hezbollah claimed responsibility for multiple attacks on various areas in northern Israel, using rockets and drones. In a statement, Hezbollah mentioned firing 50 rockets on Ahihud in northern Israel, expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people in Gaza and defending Lebanon and its citizens. The group also targeted Kiryat Ata, Kiryat Shmona, a northern military base, and two Israeli warplanes attempting to enter Lebanese territory.
Israeli police confirmed debris from projectiles and interceptors fell in Safed and Rosh Pina areas, resulting in property damage. Additionally, a 45-year-old man in the Galilee area sustained injuries from shrapnel, receiving medical treatment from Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel's national emergency service.
Meanwhile, in Lebanon, Israeli strikes have led to at least 60 fatalities and 81 injuries within the past 24 hours, as reported by the country's Disaster Risk Management Unit on Thursday.
