Hezbollah launched a barrage of rockets targeting the city of Kiryat Shmona in northern Israel on Tuesday. The Israel Defense Forces reported that 50 projectiles crossed from Lebanon into Israeli territory, with most of them intercepted but causing some damage to buildings in the area.
Following the rocket attack, several fires erupted, including incidents in a storage facility and an open area, as confirmed by the Israel Fire and Rescue Services. Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries resulting from the rocket fire, according to an Israeli police spokesperson.
Hezbollah's rocket assault came shortly after the Israeli military initiated a new round of airstrikes in eastern and southern Lebanon. The IDF announced that it had targeted numerous sites in Lebanon earlier in the day.
Hezbollah claimed responsibility for launching multiple rocket barrages into northern Israel during the early hours of the morning. The targets included the Ramat David airbase, Meggido airfield, and the Amos base near the town of Afula in northern Israel.
