Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, revealed that the Hezbollah militant group has launched more than 8,000 rockets towards Israel since the October 7 attacks by Hamas. This escalation in rocket attacks has resulted in a significant increase in tensions between Israel and Hezbollah.

Danon addressed the UN General Assembly from New York, emphasizing the ongoing threat to Israeli civilians. He stated that despite the discussions about the future, hundreds of rockets continue to target the civilian population in Israel.

Expressing Israel's determination to defend its citizens, Danon asserted that the country will utilize all available resources to ensure the safety of its people. He highlighted the impact of the attacks, noting that approximately 70,000 individuals have been displaced from their homes in northern Israel, turning into refugees within their own country.

Emphasizing Israel's defensive stance, Danon clarified that while Israel did not initiate the conflict, it remains committed to safeguarding its territory, homes, and citizens. The situation has led to a significant humanitarian crisis, with thousands of people forced to flee their residences due to the ongoing rocket attacks.

The recent surge in violence between Israel, Hamas, and Hezbollah has raised concerns about the stability of the region and the safety of civilians on both sides. The international community continues to monitor the situation closely as efforts are made to de-escalate the conflict and prevent further casualties.
