A drug dealer was found in possession of more than £1,000 worth of heroin and crack cocaine after police heard him say he had drugs. He was found with more than 100 wraps of class A drugs.
Mason Regan, 23, was spotted by officers from the organised crime unit in Cardiff at around 2pm on November 11. The police had seen a number of drug users in Stacey Road, Roath, and a few minutes later the defendant arrived on a bike
A sentencing hearing at Cardiff Crown Court on Thursday was told by prosecutor Cat Jones that Regan approached the drug users before conducting "hand to hand" exchanges with at least two of them. He was then overheard by the officers saying "I've got drugs on me" and "I've sold two for 30".

The defendant was detained as he tried to ride away on his bike. A search revealed he was in possession of 84 wraps of heroin and 40 wraps of crack cocaine, later calculated to have a street value of £1,240. He was also in possession of a mobile phone and £100 in cash.
Regan, of no fixed abode, was arrested and made admissions in his police interview. He later pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine.
Judge Jeremy Jenkins sentenced Regan to a total of 68 months imprisonment. He will serve half the sentence in custody before being released on licence.
