‘Heroic’ dad wears cone to make pet dog feel ‘less lonely’ after surgery

One man and his dog have warmed the nation’s hearts after they were both recorded wearing matching ‘cones of shame’ on camera.

The TikTok-famous pup, Good Boy Ollie, was videoed sitting on the couch alongside his dad after having an operation on one of his eyes.

In an attempt to make Ollie “feel less lonely”, his dad sported a pink cone around his neck while attempting to sip a cup of tea, according to Mirror Online.

Ollie’s owner, Alex Morgan, posted the amusing footage of her family on TikTok, captioned: “Is it just my dad?”

She titled the uplifting clip : “Not my dad wearing a cone to make my dog feel less lonely after his surgery”, then said: “I swear it’s always the dads who didn’t want a dog that end up loving them the most”.

Alex’s dad is videoed stroking the brown Labrador retriever with one hand, while holding a mug in the other and watching television.

The viral footage has reached more than 2.1 million people, with thousands falling in love with her dad’s devotion to her dog.

One person said: “Protect at all costs!!! Best dog dad ever!!!” while another commented: “Not all heroes wear capes … they wear cones”.

Many viewers were puzzled by the cup of tea and addressed her dad’s multitasking, with a fan questioning: “How’s he drinking that brew?”

Alex reassured followers that Ollie was “doing great” after his small operation to remove a lump from his eyelid.

On his Instagram, she said: “Dogs grow little lumps and bumps, but we just wanted to be on the safe side and test it. Ollie has been such a good boy and we’re super thankful to have such amazing vets who take great care of him.”

Good Boy Ollie is well-known on the social media platform as the ‘Booty Balance King’ for hilariously balancing objects on his bottom.

From a full glass of water to a ukulele and a toilet roll, Lab Ollie has perfected his party trick and can hold just about anything.

The special dog has over 2.8 million followers and growing on TikTok and Instagram and often dresses up in funny costumes, remakes popular films and plays tricks on his parents.
