'Hero' son, 15, rushed to give CPR to unresponsive man outside Leeds Tesco

The mum of a teenage boy from Leeds has taken to social media after her son performed CPR on an unconscious man outside a Tesco in Seacroft yesterday evening.

Vicky Armitage asked in the Facebook group Leedsplace if anyone knew what happened to the man. Her son, Myles, aged 15, was with his friend at the time and found him unresponsive before he went to start CPR

In a post, Vicky said: "I was just wondering if anyone knows if the guy who was at Tesco Seacroft last night around 9pm is ok.

"My son and his friend saw him laid on the floor unresponsive and my son gave him CPR and rang an ambulance and a guy who works at Tesco came out to help whilst the ambulance got there.

"If anyone has any information my son would like to know if he’s alright."

Myles told LeedsLive what happened. He said he and his friends were riding past when they saw a man on the floor who didn't look like he was breathing.

Even though he has little experience, he knew to start CPR. Once he noticed the man was breathing he asked his other friends to go into the Tesco and call an ambulance.

He said: "Me and a couple of friends were riding past and saw a guy slumped on the floor and another man tapping him on the head with his foot.

"When we went over to see what was happening, he didn’t look like he was breathing and told someone to start CPR as we weren't experienced at it.

"We realised he was breathing and a guy came over to help whilst me and my friends went to Tesco to ask for help.

"Two ambulances and a police car turned up when a worker in Tesco came out with a defib machine.

"We knew he was in safe hands."
