A hero police dog caught a shoplifter in Bo'ness after chasing him down in the pouring rain.

Officers were alerted to the break-in early morning on Hope Street on Saturday February 19.

The suspect had made off before cops arrived, however, PD Chase was on the case and tracked him down nearby.

The 27-year-old was arrested and the stolen goods were recovered.

Thanks to PD Chase's efforts, the robber was jailed for eight months after pleading guilting at Falkirk Sheriff Court today.

Taking to Twitter, Falkirk Police said: "In the early hours of Saturday officers were called to a report of a man breaking into a shop in Hope St, Bo’ness.

"The suspect had made off but PD Chase tracked him down.

"The 27yr old man appeared at Falkirk SC yesterday & pled guilty. He was sentenced to 8 months imprisonment."
