A Wirral dad has been dubbed a "hero" after he rushed to help a stranger suffering heart problems while on a family holiday in Wales.
Andy Roberts, a member of the West Kirby Lifeboat crew, was on a day out visiting the RNLI Moelfre Lifeboat Station in Anglesey, when a member of the public suffering from Cardiac Arrythmia fell ill. The condition affects the heart, and, in some cases, can cause people to collapse and lose conciousness.
Andy had only completed his RNLI Casualty Care Course a few months before but instantly rushed to the aid of the stranger and put his training into use. He performed essential first aid for more than 45 minutes before the next help arrived in the form of Moelfre Lifeboat's own Casualty Carer Team, who were at sea at the time of the incident.

Andy was in Moelfre with his family, including his son George, demonstraiting how volunteer RNLI crew are always on duty and can quickly act to give life saving care in any situation.
The casualty made a full recovery and contacted West Kirby Lifeboat Station directly to praise Andy's quick-thinking. They said: "Andy was a star and the unsung hero of the day."
An RNLI spokesperson said: "I'm sure you will all join us in applauding Andy for his quick-thinking actions. We are all extremely proud to serve alongside him."
