The Fortnite Hunting Party skin has arrived, a reward for completing seven full weeks of challenges in season 6, including a few of the more annoying weeks, this one especially (hack down 50 trees? Really?).
If you manage to get all that busywork done, you will unlock the A.I.M. legendary skin, a fully fledged robot that has arrived from…somewhere in order to do…something.
But the arrival of A.I.M. has actually come with a tiny map change as well, something most players will probably miss. These special season skins usually arrive with some sort of fanfare. The Visitor was in the comet that crashed to earth, and his pod opened during his arrival week. The Enforcer skins arrived through a rift last season by the motel.
And A.I.M.? The robot has parachuted onto the map, apparently, at least judging by the fluttering parachute that you can see attached to a chimney on the roof of Flush Factory. The globe-like symbol on the parachute matches a symbol on A.I.M. itself, so it stands to reason that this is how he arrived.
I have searched Flush Factory and have not been able to come up with any other changes that might indicate where A.I.M. has been, where he is now, or what he’s doing here.
A.I.M. does feel like he is probably separate from this entire Cube storyline, and he could be the start of a new Fortnite chapter. The only possible way I could link him to something currently happening on the map would be possibly the underground research bunker beneath Wailing Woods. We know they were studying rifts, but might they have built a robot too? That’s unclear, but possible.
The Cube stuff does seem to be mostly over, but obviously Fortnite is not a game that wants to stand still and wither, so we will probably start some new storyline too. If A.I.M. is the kick off point, I genuinely have no idea where we might be headed, perhaps into some sort of technological revolution on the map, but I’m not sure. Then again, I may be overthinking this, as the Enforcer skins really did not seem to be all that important in the grand scheme of things, even if The Visitor was. But we are in a “quiet time” of Fortnite right now with everything peaceful after the Cube explosion and the end of Fortnitemares, so who knows what is coming next.
