Here’s When Fortnite’s Massive Galactus Live-Event Starts And What To Expect

Galactus is coming.

The devourer of worlds has set his sights on Fortnite, and players should get ready for the most epic live-event this game has ever staged—which says a lot.

It’s also quite possibly the most epic boss fight the game has seen, with players everywhere set to square off against the gargantuan foe.

Dataminers are largely keeping their lips sealed when it comes to what to expect, other than basic facts like file-size, which is much more massive than any previous live-event in Fortnite.

There are also clues, or at least suspicions, such as:

  • The old map might come back after the event, or some hybrid version of both maps.
  • The black hole may return, sending the game into an extended downtime.
  • Other colossi from past live-events could return, such as the giant cat robot from Chapter 1, Season 9. Man, that monster vs robot fight was so good.

Whatever happens, you don’t want to miss it by either getting into a game or watching on YouTube. You may not have a choice. Far too often during these events, servers fill quickly and it’s impossible to login. I’ve had mixed luck in the past, but your best bet is to login to the game early and don’t log out even if you just stay in the lobby. Then join a match once the live event mode is up.

For earlier live-events, Epic just had players join normal matches. Now, without exception, there’s a special mode to join. Join it the moment it goes live and you might have a chance. Otherwise, login to your favorite Fortnite streamer’s livestream and watch. Epic may also broadcast the live-event on their social media accounts, so hop over to the official Fortnite Twitter just in case.

And stay tuned to Forbes Games where we will be covering (and trying to get into) the event as well.

It kicks off at 4pm ET / 2pm PT today, December 1st. Season 5 is set to begin this Thursday, December 3rd bright and early.
