Here's What You Can Expect for Year 9 of Rainbow Six Siege

Year 9 Season 1 of Rainbow Six Siege is finally here. That means it's time to enjoy thrilling updates and experience new features. Indeed, the roadmap shows a lot of new things like four new seasons and two new Operators. There's even going to be two Operator remasters. Players can also look forward to seeing balancing updates along with improved onboarding & training features with a modern machine-learning Versus AI Playlist. A cross-play update is also in the works and more anti-cheat measures to be implemented.

Season Content

Season 1 officially launches Operation Deadly Omen and introduces the first villain Operator Deimos who brings with him the DeathMARK gadget. Get to learn more about the DeathMARK gadget here.

The season also introduces new anti-cheat measures and an upgrade to Attachments & ADS. There's also the revamp Shield Mechanics which you can read more about here.

When Season 2 rolls in, players get to be introduced to the first Operator remaster with the Recruit. They'll also be able to explore the full release of the Reputation System and can finally access the Siege Marketplace. To be released as well are the map filters in the Standard Playlist and new content in the Training Playlist.

Once Season 3 goes live, the roster welcomes a new Greek Operator. Launching during this season are the badges and career system. Players can also get access to the Shooting Range during matchmaking. By the way, there's also going to be a new versus AI mode where players get to also play as Defenders.

Season 4 wraps up Year 9 which sees the launch of the second remaster which is a fan-favorite American Operator. This season also introduces an optional console to PC cross-play feature with further anti-cheat measures released which automatically kick cheaters.

Ubisoft revealed in a post that throughout Year 9, they'll continue reinforcing the foundations of the game to make sure that everyone get to enjoy the game at its best. The studio is also increasing its efforts to fight cheating and toxicity. To make this happen, further measures are set to be implemented to make sure that integrity and competitiveness is ensured with every match.

Other plans include releasing more player comfort-focused updates that's aimed at improving the quality of life for players and offering a smoother experience. Balancing updates are also being launched to enhance the core tactical gameplay.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege is an online tactical shooter video game launched in 2015 and made available for the PC, PlayStation 4, and the Xbox One. In 2020, it was released for the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X/S.
