Here’s the Packers’ first unofficial depth chart of the 2022 season

The Green Bay Packers released their first “unofficial” depth chart of the 2022 season. As is always the case, these depth charts are not created by coaches, so what appears on the page does not necessarily reflect the reality of where players sit on the actual depth chart. But it can be a handy guide to where some things stand at this point in the training camp process.

Any takeaways?

– No players on the PUP list are included.

– As expected, top pick Quay Walker is listed as a starting linebacker.

– The starting offensive line features Jake Hanson at right guard and Royce Newman at right tackle, with rookie Zach Tom as the backup at right tackle.

– Standout rookie Romeo Doubs is a backup at receiver and both returner spots. The starting three receivers are the three veterans: Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb and Sammy Watkins.

– The top returners are Amari Rodgers on punts and Rico Gafford on kicks.

– Isaiah McDuffie is on the second-team at linebacker; Ty Summers is a third-teamer.

– Jonathan Garvin and Tipa Galeai are the backup outside linebackers.

– Undrafted rookie Jack Coco is the No. 1 long snapper.

No real surprises. It matches much of what has been reported out of Packers training camp so far. We’ll see if the pecking order changes when Matt LaFleur’s team faces off against the San Francisco 49ers in the preseason opener on Friday night.
