Here’s the exact number of missed tackles by the Packers against the Eagles

Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur initially thought his team missed 15 tackles during Sunday night’s 40-33 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Pro Football Focus originally placed the number at 16.

LaFleur then upped his number to “over 20” on Monday.

On Wednesday, the Packers coach provided an official number.

LaFleur said his staff charted 22 missed tackles against Jalen Hurts, Miles Sanders and the rest of the Eagles during the 500-yard, 40-point performance in Week 12.

“No matter what we have called, we have to tackle, first and foremost. And if you miss 22 tackles…that’s what we had, it’s going to be a long day,” LaFleur said.

Hurts rushed for 157 yards, a franchise record for a quarterback. Sanders added 143, a career-high. Overall, the Eagles had 363 rushing yards.

LaFleur said a “main point of emphasis” for the Packers this week is using leverage on the field to funnel ball carriers to the help of teammates on individual plays.

“To miss that many, it was obviously very disappointing. You get what you emphasize, and we have to make a strong emphasis in that regard. We have to have more hats at the ball,” LaFleur said.

The Packers go on the road to play the Chicago Bears on Sunday. Justin Fields, one of the best running quarterbacks in football, is questionable to play. The Bears rank first in the NFL in rushing attempts, rushing yards, and rushing average in 2022.
