The Los Angeles Rams entered the 2023 NFL draft with only one quarterback on their current roster, so it was assumed that they would select another at some point. And in a surprising move, the Rams used the 128th overall pick in this year’s draft on Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett.
Bennett helped the Bulldogs win the National Championship in back-to-back years, but he’ll turn 26 years old during his rookie season. The incoming rookie signal-caller figures to be the immediate backup to Matthew Stafford, who everyone has pointed out also attended Georgia.
With the Rams surprising many by taking Bennett, fans and analysts alike shared their mixed reactions to the selection.

Don't love the Stetson Bennett pick, but I also don't hate the pick. A little smaller at just 5'11 and an older prospect at 26 years old…a good fit though for the Rams offense.

I guess the Rams have hinted at Stetson Bennett in hindsight. They talked about getting a guy who has some moxie/that innate late-game ability to step up.
Obviously, Bennett has done that at Georgia. Basically told us who they were targeting without telling us.
