Here’s how to reheat your McDonald's in the air fryer

McDonald's is just not the same when it’s cold, so here’s how to make sure it’s steaming hot when you tuck into your meal. Reheating McDonald's in the air fryer gives it that just-cooked taste.

McDonald’s fries, chicken nuggets, and burgers can all be reheated the next day as long as they are kept in the fridge, kitchen gadget expert Samantha Milne from RecipeThis recommends . However, if you’ve forgotten to put your food in the fridge overnight you’ll need to bin it.

According to Government food safety guidelines food that’s been sat out at room temperature for more than two hours shouldn’t be eaten. Additionally, food should only be reheated once and should be “steaming hot” all the way through, the advice states .

Here’s how to reheat McDonald's in the air fryer

Whether your children have small appetites or you’ve overdone it on the chicken nuggets, here’s how you can reheat your leftovers the next day. Most air fryers reach temperatures of up to 230C, which helps kill off potentially harmful bacteria.

Fries

Start by spraying your McDonald's fries with oil and popping them in the air fryer for five minutes at 180C, Guap's Grubs recommends. If your chips are still soggy, spray them with oil again and blast them in the air fryer at a higher temperature for another minute.

The air fryer offers that deep-fried effect whilst using very little oil. You can even place the reheated chips back in the original packaging and get into your car for an authentic dining experience!

Chicken Nuggets

Place your chicken nuggets in the air fryer basket without overlapping them. RecipeThis suggests spraying your nuggets with olive oil for extra crunch, but this is optional.

Reheat your nuggets for five minutes in the air fryer at a temperature of 160C. Once the nuggets are done in the air fryer, make sure they are “steaming hot” all the way through.

Quarter Pounder

You may be able to fit a couple of burgers in your air fryer, but avoid overcrowding the basket as the food won’t evenly reheat. There’s no need to dismantle your burger unless it is a particularly chunky BigMac, in which case you may want to split it into halves.

Reheat your burger for three minutes at 160C before flipping it over and reheating it for a further two minutes at 160C, RecipeThis recommends. Double check that the burger is piping hot all the way through before serving it.
