Here’s How Much A $100 Bet On Jon Rahm To Win The 2023 Masters Pays Out

Golfer Jon Rahm took home $3.2 million for winning the 2023 Masters Tournament, one of the four major championships annually in professional golf. Here’s a look at what this means for Rahm and how much his win paid out bettors backing him before and during the tournament.

Rahm was one of several betting favorites ahead of the 2023 Masters Tournament.

Sports books were mixed on who was the favorite to take home the coveted green jacket over the four-day tournament. Many sports book websites like DraftKings Inc had Rahm listed as a co-favorite alongside Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler. Other sports books saw Justin Thomas listed as a co-favorite with Rahm and McIlroy.

One thing was certain, Rahm was a favorite to win the 2023 Masters.

Rahm entered what was expected to be a two-person duel for the Masters championship on Sunday, trailing leader Brooks Koepka. Sports books had Koepka as the favorite entering the fourth round with odds of +100 and Rahm as the underdog at odds of +150.

Outside the top two contenders, Viktor Hovland had odds of +650 and all other golfers were listed at +1800 or higher to win the Masters.

Rahm won the Masters with a score of -12, after posting a -3 fourth round and taking over the top spot from Koepka, who finished tied for second at -8. Phil Mickelson finished tied for second at -8 after posting an incredible score of -7 in the fourth round.

The 2023 Masters saw the PGA Tour get a needed win with Rahm coming out on top, beating two golfers in Koepka and Mickelson, who compete in the rival LIV Golf league.

Rahm has seven victories in the last 12 months.

The tournament also saw several golfers who were part of the Netflix Inc docuseries “Full Swing” finish among the leading contenders. Koepka (T-2nd), Jordan Spieth (T-4th), Collin Morikawa (T-10th), and Viktor Hovland (T-7th) were all featured on “Full Swing.”

Another company that could benefit from Rahm’s win is Topgolf Callaway Brands Corp. Rahm uses Callaway products on tour.

The Masters were aired on ESPN and CBS, units of The Walt Disney Company and Paramount Global.

The media networks could see strong viewership numbers with many familiar names ranking among the leaders on the scoreboard. A fourth round tight matchup may have also boosted ratings, along with Tiger Woods making the cut and being a top storyline at the tournament before withdrawing due to injury.

The betting odds for Rahm ahead of the Masters Tournament varied from around +700 to +1200 depending on the sports book.

A $100 bet on Rahm to win the 2023 Masters Tournament at odds of +1200 netted bettors a payout of $1,300 for a profit of $1,200.

One bettor was lucky enough to bet on Rahm to win the Masters and the University of Connecticut to win the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. The parlay paid out $45,000 from a $500 bet.

Bettors who were looking for a pick to win the 2023 Masters Tournament came close following the sleeper pick of Mickelson shared by Zenger News. Mickelson was listed with odds of more than 100-to-1 to start the tournament and was the 28th most bet on golfer to win at DraftKings, according to sports reporter Darren Rovell.

A $100 bet on Rahm ahead of Sunday’s final fourth round paid out $250 for a profit of $150, as Koepka was seen as the strong favorite with a lead and the lowest scores in both round one and two.

Rahm has won his fair share of tournaments, but this marked his first Masters victory. Rahm predicted such a victory back in 2013 with a tweet sharing a fortune cookie.
