Here's How Mark Cuban Thinks Homeschooling Can Be Revolutionized

Artificial intelligence (AI) seems to be changing every aspect of our lives at breakneck speed. Predicting how and where the new technology can be of use has seemingly endless result -- but Mark Cuban threw the weight of his Twitter account behind one prediction regarding the world of education.

The tweet, which Cuban retweeted, is a prediction of the future of education thanks to the revolutionary capabilities of AI chatbots like ChatGPT. "GPT-4 will revolutionize homeschooling," tweets Occupy Wall Street co-founder Micah White, PhD. "It is an amazing teacher's assistant able to generate unlimited resources," he continues, "ranging from quizzes to essays at all grade levels."

"A child could go to college at home using GPT-4," is a bold claim--one that clearly piqued Cuban's interest. White goes on to acknowledge in the comments that students and teachers both will need to double-check the work produced by a chatbot after a commenter pointed out flaws in the emerging AI technology.

The notion that artificial intelligence can all but replace teachers feels a little far-fetched. And in these early stages, the idea of a "ChatGPT-U" college seems a little farcical. But one thing looks likely -- educators may come to rely on the technology as an invaluable time-saving tool.

Whether it's homeschool teaching, like the kind White elaborates on in the tweet thread, or a helping hand to public school teachers balancing a lot of responsibility with limited resources, Cuban and White may be right about the usefulness of ChatGPT in classrooms (when used correctly.)
