Vault of Glass has been live for almost two weeks now, and while I probably should have written this a while ago, it’s probably going to be relevant for a long time to come, given that you can only run it a few times a week.
Vault of Glass has brought back a lot of Destiny 1 loot, and I’d say it’s unique in the sense that the god rolls are really good, but everything else can be fairly underwhelming. So what exactly are you farming for? What should you be spending your spoils trying to get? Let’s go through all the loot you can get:
Praedyth’s Revenge (Sniper Rifle)
Rewind Rounds/High Impact Reserves – This combo gives it the highest sniper DPS in the game because of how many rounds you’ll get overall and the High Impact damage boost.
Moving Target or Quickdraw/Opening Shot – Clearly a PvP roll, and this cannot roll Snapshot, so these two are your best options, even after the Quickdraw nerf.
Vison of Confluence (Scout Rifle)
Rewind Rounds/Firefly – You really do want Firefly on this thing, given that it’s one of just two scouts that can get Firefly right now (Hung Jury). And Rewind is just fun.
Surplus/Frenzy or Firefly – I got Surplus/Frenzy and this turns this from clunky into a hyper fast reload machine. Firefly has the reload speed too, so that would be even better.
Tunnel Vision/Kill Clip – These two pair well together on all weapons, including VoC here.
Found Verdict (Shotgun)
Rewind Rounds/Vorpal – Makes this a PvE monster, though there can be some difficulty getting Rewind to trigger.
Surplus/Opening Shot – After the Quickdraw nerf, this is what you’re looking for in PvP.
Autoloading/Frenzy – These pair well together as you take this out during combat and it’s reloaded and has a damage buff.
Surplus/Demolitionist – Good for specific builds and has good synergy.
Fatebringer (Hand Cannon)
Explosive Rounds/Firefly – The classic roll that obviously you’re going to want a copy of.
Rewind Rounds/Firefly – New perk paired with an old one works out pretty well too.
Tunnel Vision/Kill Clip – There’s that newly classic pair again, and it’s great on this gun like most others.
Killing Wind/Eye of the Storm or Opening Shot – Good for PvP dueling.
Corrective Measure (Machine Gun)
Anything/Firefly – Pretty much any perk is interesting to pair with the only machine gun that can roll Firefly, and it’s doubly interesting here because this is doing void damage with a solar explosion.
Feeding Frenzy or Subsistence or Rewind Rounds/One for All – All of these make a great pair for One for All, which is a great, great perk for machine guns for obvious reasons.
Demolitionist/Adrenaline Junkie – I believe this is the only weapon right now that can pair both of these perks together. Get more grenades, get more damage on grenade kills, repeat.
Hezen Vengeance
Overflow/Vorpal or Timed Payload – Overflow on a rocket launcher is a Destiny 2 first, and can make for the highest rocket DPS in the game by a wide margin. I’m not actually sure which is better, Timed or Vorpal, but both are good. Other perk pairings with these two are fine (Autoloading, Impulse), but this is clearly the best.
