1. Home Minister’s aide murdered for ruining marital life of accused

Investigations revealed that the motive for the murder was old rivalry between the main accused Venugopal and the victim Srinivasan alias Seenappa. Seenappa had allegedly assaulted Venugopal over a land dispute. Venugopal sustained injuries in his private parts and underwent surgery, but his wife left him. Venugopal decided to avenge Seenappa for ruining his life.

2. Shivamogga Dasara Ambari to be taken in vehicle after elephant delivers baby

Three elephants — Sagar, Hemavathi and Nethravathi — were chosen for the Dasara procession in Shivamogga. Of them, Nethravathi gave birth to a baby on Monday October 23 night. Forest officials did not know that the animal was pregnant.

3. Transport corporations to fill 8,719 vacancies

Over the past eight years, no new driver, conductor, or mechanic has been recruited by State-run road transport corporations (RTCs). Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy said, “Since 2016, 13,669 staff members have retired, causing a shortage in our workforce. The lack of drivers has prevented us from utilising our fleet to its full capacity. To address this, we plan to recruit 8,719 individuals across all four corporations, and also add new buses.”

4. Bigg Boss contestant sent to judicial custody over tiger claw

Santhosh was arrested by Forest Department officials on October 22 late evening after he was seen allegedly wearing a tiger claw pendant inside the Bigg Boss house while the reality show was being recorded at Kumbalagodu.
