Lost Ark may already be overwhelming players with 15 different classes to choose from, which change based on subclass and even gender options, but the game actually has even more on the way, if you can believe it. I first saw these through a helpful Arekkz video, and here’s a recap of what’s still to potentially come to Lost Ark:
- Destroyer (Warrior subclass) – This is a big hulking dude with a hammer that stuns and crushes enemies. Slow, but big damage and very tanky.
- Berserker (Female) – Not quite clear on what the end result of this may be, but Smilegate has teased a female version of the Berserker class which may not come with a different moveset, it may just be a gender “unlock,” as it were.
- Lance Master (Female Martial Artist subclass) – This is a new subclass for the female Martial Artist that switches between spear and halberd style weapons for a variety of very fast moves.
- Scouter (Male Gunslinger subclass) – This is a new gunslinger that uses a whole lot of gadgets including drones and mines and is the most futuristic looking class the game has seen, like almost from another game entirely. Its awakening skill is summoning a massive warship to do an onscreen bombing run and he can also don a mecha exosuit to fly around and shoot lasers.
- Summoner (Mage subclass) – This is a class that’s able to summon a wide variety of mystical creatures to help out in battle, including a giant ghost knight as an ultimate move.
- Arcana (Mage subclass) – Think Gambit from X-Men with more magical properties. The entire magic kit is based on drawing cards and producing card-effect moves to trap and damage enemies. Very creative.
- Reaper (Assassin subclass) – Become invisible, dash around very quickly, stab enemies. Repeat.
- Artist (new Specialist class) – Uses a paintbrush to produce a bunch of ink-based moves that look extremely cool onscreen.
- Aeromancer (new Specialist class) – Use an umbrella to control weather effects. So new that there’s no footage of them, and this is all we know about them.
Got all that? So excluding the female Beserker gender flip, that is 8 new subclasses and 1 new overall class, joining the 15 subclasses the game already has. Wild. Some of these are out already in Korea, others aren’t, but it’s clear that perhaps Amazon wants to dole these out slowly over time to keep players coming back.
Managing alternate characters in Lost Ark is useful, given all the extra stuff you can farm using them. The game does let you zoom two characters to level 50 for free with Powerpasses, but after that, you have to pay or grind. And you only have six character slots total (I believe you can also pay for more). Is there such a thing as too many classes? Maybe, maybe not, but I certainly want to try a bunch of these out when they do finally arrive.
