Here Are All The New Season 9 Battle Pass Skins In 'Fortnite: Battle Royale'

Fortnite

And it’s that day again, when we get a brand-new Season and battle pass in Fortnite, stacked with a ton of new unlockable goodies and 100 tiers to traverse over the course a season’s worth of daily and weekly challenges. And there’s nothing quite like that early morning drop of new content, cosmetic and otherwise. For Season 9, the theme isn’t quite so straightforward as it was last season: it looks like we could sort of call it sci-fi, futuristic, or just, as Epic has been saying “NEO”. Downtime just began and so we can’t jump in quite yet, but we can already see all the new skins from the header on the Patch Notes page.

For a rundown on the rest of the Season 9 battle pass cosmetics, look here. Let’s take a look at the skins:

Fortnite

Let’s look at each of these guys individually.

Fortnite

Rox: Rox looks to some degree like the mascot of the season, a sort of Drift or Calamity type. She evolves from a straightforward Pink zip-up to a sort of fighter pilot with just a hint of racer, with a ton of glitzy cosmetics to complete the look in the pass.

Fortnite

Sentinel: Sentinel is definitely a robot chicken, which I suppose is a reference to the TV show. Regardless, Sentinel appears to be the peaceful Guardian of Neo Tilted, as well as the helpful robot chicken that let our buddies out of the bunker. Peaceful until a player starts controlling, of course.

Fortnite

Bunker Jonesy: When I first glanced at this, I really thought it was a version of Peely that had begun eating himself to reveal a human face underneath. I’m glad this is not the case. Instead, Bunker Jonesy is a default skin that got stuck in a bunker far too long and lost what social skills he had in the first place and began to resemble his banana companion.

Fortnite

Demi: A cyberpunk-style image, though this one is a decidedly higher-class variety than the rest on the list. She is a kind of femme fatale archetype, with a shiny red prosthetic arm that I’m getting major Deus Ex vibes from.

Fortnite

Vega: A little indistinct, Vega, but I like it all the same. She appears to be a bounty hunter, and for that reason, she actually has sort of a Star Wars thing going on: something about the cape, I suppose. Not the flashiest of skins, but the more reserved have a place even in Fortnite.

Fortnite

Vendetta: Here’s the menacing robot demon skin from the first teaser, and he mostly holds true to that now that we can see him revealed. This reminds me a lot like Dire from Season 6, which also evolved from a relatively boring looking guy into something much more threatening. As far as Tier 100 skins, this isn’t the most exciting thing. But it does the job of placing a villain on top of the heap.
