Here Are All 'Fortnite: Battle Royale' Season 4's New Secrets And Locations (So Far)

Fortnite

While everyone was expecting a comet to slam into Fortnite’s map at the beginning of season 4 (which it did), I don’t think most fans were prepared for the map to change as much as it has. Epic has added a whole bunch of new stuff to the Fortnite map other than a variety of craters. There are new zones, new buildings, and new secrets, some of which fans may not have even found yet.

I thought I’d do a little sightseeing tour this morning, taking you to all the new areas of the map found so far, along with a secret or two. One of the recent rumors about Fortnite season 4 is that Epic is planning to add to the map all throughout the season, and given that other rumors (superhero theme, Dusty Divot) came true, we might see that start to happen as soon as next week. But for now, there are a number of new areas you can visit right this second.

This will be a running list that I will try to add to as more things are discovered, but for now, here’s everything I can find that’s been added, big and small.

Fortnite

Dusty Divot

We’ll start with the most glaringly obvious new area on the map, Dusty Divot. This was the main impact zone of the comet, one that created an enormous crater that tore Dusty Depot in half and wiped out a cluster of factories. In its place is a military base set up at the center of the crater, which looks an awfully lot like the one that SHIELD set up when Thor’s hammer fell to earth. The crater also contains Hop Rocks, which you can consume to increase your jump height and resist fall damage. One mysterious thing I’ve seen in the crater is an Ice Cream truck with 100,000 HP lodged in the ground that appears to be hiding a chest. Anything special in that chest? I’d love it if someone would find out for me…

There are a number of craters scattered all over the map, smaller than this one, but some also have Hop Rocks and meteorite fragments that give you bonus metal when mined. There’s one in Tilted, one in the prison and a bunch more scattered in random locations.

Fortnite

The Supervillain Base

One of the coolest new additions to the map is supervillain base, which is situated in a mountain near Snobby Shores. From the outside it looks like a skull, and inside you’ll see a giant rocket/missile that I am convinced is going to be fired at some point, perhaps as a kick-off for season 5, but no one has figured out a way to launch it in the meantime. I believe this is Omega’s base of operations, and we have to wait and see if he has any other supervillain friends who join him there, like the mysterious unlocked skin you get if you complete 7 weeks of challenges.

Fortnite

The Superhero Mansion

This is a new mansion that has gone up by Lonely Lodge, which may just look like a rich person’s house at first, but if you explore underneath it, you realize that it’s more of a Wayne Manor with a superhero based underneath it, one that leads out to a large hanger in the underside of the cliff facing the water. Perhaps not quite as cool as the supervillain base and its rocket, but worth exploring all the same. The first time I did I missed the basement completely, so don’t let that happen to you.

Fortnite

The Underground Bunker

I’m not sure if this is the only one of these bunkers that’s out there, but players have discovered a mysterious bunker underneath the blue house in Salty Springs that looks like some sort of command center. It’s not clear whether it’s tied to the supervillains or supeheroes, but my guess? One of them lives there, and the bunker is used for their super work, while the house above ground conceals their secret identity.

Fortnite

Risky Reels

Strangely, there appear to be two different themes in the new additions to this map. While the superhero bases are the biggest additions, there’s also a movie theme going on as well. Risky Reels is a new drive-in movie theater complex that was shown off in the season 4 trailer, and it’s not the only movie-based location added to the map.

Fortnite

Moisty Mire Movie Set

Moisty Mire has received a total makeover, and has turned into a movie set filming some sort of unknown picture, complete with large green screens. There are actually a number of other green screen locations scattered around the map as well now, ones that can be used by content creators to film their characters and put in new backgrounds. Fans have referred to them as “streamer set-ups.”

Fortnite

The Footprint

Players have discovered that a wrecked house between Snobby Shore and Greasy Grove has actually been…stomped by something quite large with three toes. One theory is that this is just a special effect that has to do with the movie that’s being filmed. The other theory is that this might be the first clue about a monster/dinosaur-themed season 5. Will there be more buildings crushed by giant feet to come? We’ll have to wait and see.

Fortnite

Yonder Yard Club

This one is just for fun, as Yonder Yard has received a makeover to now be the home of an expansive warehouse dance club, complete with DJ booth, sprawling dance floor and VIP area. If you get a dance challenge, you’re definitely going to want to pay this place a visit.

So far, these are all the major Fortnite season 4 finds I’ve cataloged. Perhaps more will be discovered, or more will be added in time. Have you visited them all yet? Have you found anything I’ve missed? Let me know.
