Henry Cejudo admits Conor McGregor will have first shot at winning third belt

Henry Cejudo has admitted Conor McGregor is likely to beat him to a shot at winning a third UFC title after confirming his own comeback plans.

McGregor is currently preparing to make a UFC comeback later this year and is planning to switch to 170lb in a bid to conquer a third weight class. Meanwhile Cejudo recently announced his intentions to return to the octagon and is planning to beat his rival to the chance at winning a trio of titles.

Cejudo believes he is capable of defeating Volkanovski but believes "blue-eyed devil" McGregor will be considered first by the promotion's president Dana White. "[Alexander Volkanovski's] only a couple inches taller than me," Cejudo told ESPN MMA. 'It's a very winnable fight and I love the fact that I could become the first division champ.

"Because we all know, America's sweetheart, you know, Conor McGregor, that blue-eyed devil, you know, Dana White, you know, he's gonna be the first one to get that crack at the three belts. But man, this one's gonna be earned this was earned for me."

The American star is just one of four fighters who has won two belts in different weight classes within the UFC, but has now announced his plans to return to the USADA testing pool ahead of a UFC return. He is targeting a shot against featherweight champion Volkanovski having already conquered the flyweight and bantamweight divisions at the height of his career.

A fight between both double-champions Cejudo and McGregor has also been talked up, but it seems increasingly unlikely given McGregor's new ripped physique which has seen him weigh around 190lb during his recovery. Cejudo recently mocked footage of his UFC rival's return to training before McGregor hit back by slamming the American as a "fat midget novice".

McGregor opted to play down any fight Cejudo in the future after the American stated his intentions of moving up to 155lbs. "Mate, I don't give two f**** about you," McGregor wrote. "You are a nobody. Who the f*** even are you? You are a little skid mark to me, stop messaging me, thanks."

Cejudo has called for the Irishman to fight YouTube star Jake Paul and make an exit from competing in the UFC. “ Conor McGregor in 2016, he did walk that walk," Cejudo said. "But guess what man, his persona is over, he’s not that dude anymore. People know that it’s just an act and he doesn’t have that juice no more.

"But I think he’s so stubborn and around yes man. He won’t get better, he’s stuck in his own fame. That’s my two cents on Conor McTapper. I think he should fight Jake Paul, I think these two dudes are meant for each other. I think they can go on a damn honeymoon afterward too."
