Henrik Larsson plays Celtic pop star protector as legend demanded apology for infamous Louis Tomlinson tackle

Celtic legend Henrik Larsson demanded an APOLOGY from Gabby Agbonlahor for his infamous tackle on Louis Tomlinson.

The former Aston Villa striker left on on the former One Direction star in a charity match at Parkhead, with the pop star left vomiting by the side of the pitch.

Tomlinson's teenage fans didn't see the funny side and neither, it appears, did one of the greatest players in Celtic history.

Speaking to Ally McCoist and Laura Woods on talkSPORT, Agbonlahor revealed that Larsson had told him to apologise for the incident, as he ensured he got out of Glasgow sharpish.

Here's the full hilarious exchange.

Woods: "I've got an email here, says 'there could be another old codger taking to the court (for the Masters) but he's still serving a lengthy ban after a vicious tackle on a certain pop star..."

McCoist: "That's poor, Gab.

"I mean, that's poor. What happened?"

Woods: "That's between you and Louis Tomlinson from One Direction, right?"

Agbonlahor: "It was a game for (Stiliyan) Petrov's charity and I just remember going over and you know a shoulder barge, Ally?"

McCoist: "Yeah."

Agbonlahor: "I think because he'd been drinking the night before in the hotel, obviously he was a bit hungover so he was sick by the side of the pitch.

"Martin O'Neill wasn't happy!

"But I remember after the game, Ally, I got a good telling off from Henrik Larsson!"

McCoist: "Is that right?!"

Agbonlahor: "Yeah, he was like, 'you have to apologise, come on, you don't do that'."

"I was like, 'sorry mate I didn't mean to'. It was a charity game, yes, but you don't lose that edge do you?"

McCoist (giggling): "Was Henrik wanting you to apologise?!"

Agbonlahor: "Yeah, well he wasn't happy. I was like, 'calm down, Henrik'."

McCoist: "Love it."

Agbonlahor: "I was getting death threats off teenage girls: 'how dare you touch my Louis Tomlinson?'.

"I was like, 'right let's get out of here, Glasgow Airport, let me escape in one piece!"
