Gabriel Jesus pulled out his trademark celebration as he revelled in being called up to Brazil’s World Cup squad.
The Arsenal striker beat Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino to a call-up to Tite’s selection for the tournament in Qatar, and he will be joined on the plane by Gabriel Martinelli.
Reacting to Monday’s announcement, Jesus posted a compilation clip of the World Cup venues and his best bits for Brazil on social media.
The caption “inexplicable” underlined his disbelief and joy at receiving the nod. He also posted hashtags “hello mum” and “gratitude”, the former being a reference to his phone-call celebration which came about from frequent calls home after arriving in England.
On Instagram, the 25-year-old posted a variety of reaction clips from family and friends taking in the news.

Jesus posted a quote, which read: “Work hard and in silence, let your results make noise.”
One Arsenal star not going to Qatar is centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes, who missed out to the likes of Gleison Bremer of Juventus and Chelsea veteran Thiago Silva.
The defender reposted an Instagram story from one account, adding a heart and fist-bump emoji to its caption.
“I saw you grow up in football, brother,” the message read. “You are the pride of our neighbourhood.”
