'Hell yes!': Gossip Girl's Ed Westwick and Bollywood star Amy Jackson engaged

Gossip Girl actor Ed Westwick has announced that he and Bollywood actress girlfriend Amy Jackson are engaged.

Westwick, 36, who played character Chuck Bass in the US teen drama, which ran from 2007 until 2012, popped the question during a ski trip in Switzerland.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, he and Jackson, 31, shared a joined post revealing their happy news, along with a slew of images of the big moment.

One image saw Jackson holding her hands up to her mouth in shock as Westwick, who was down on one knee, held up a ring box.

The setting looked picturesque as they were on a bridge leading up a mountain blanketed with powder white snow.

Another saw them on the same bridge beaming at the camera as Jackson hugged her husband-to-be from behind.

The accompanying caption read: "Hell YES!"

This will be the first trip down the aisle for both of them.

Jackson, who has starred in a string of Indian films, predominantly in Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu languages, was previously engaged to hotelier George Panayiotou, with whom she shares four-year-old son Andreas.

Westwick and Jackson first met at Silverstone racetrack in 2021 where both were attending an Aston Martin event.

He asked her out on a double coffee date with their dogs, her poodle Herbert and his Frenchie, Humphrey. They went Instagram official in June 2022 and have since featured regularly on each other's grids.

Westwick hinted at what was to come last year when asked in an interview with Hello magazine about the prospect of marriage and children.

"Yes! One hundred per cent. I grew up in a wonderful household where my mum and dad were married," he told the publication.

"My parents loved each other fiercely right up to the end. I idolised them and their relationship. Just that kind of support!"

His dad passed away 11 years ago while his mother died in September 2022 from Mesothelioma - a type of cancer caused by asbestos.
