If you have a keen eye, you have noticed that Sam is sadly not showing off our green and gold in the artwork. That’s not how FIFA works, my dudes. Sam is a striker for Chelsea in the FA Women’s Super League, so she’s repping that blue jersey for the cover. For the first time in FIFA history, you’ll be able to play as part of a women’s club. So, you better believe you can rep the same jersey as Sam — or any club jersey from the Barclays FA Women’s Super League or Division 1 Arkema for that matter. We love to see it!
As if we couldn’t be fawning over Aussie royalty enough right now, more local legends have entered the chat: beloved athletes Tim Cahill, Hayley Raso, Erin Phillips and John Aloisi have all shared tributes to Sam. Keep those eyes peeled in the video for our boy, presenter and national heartthrob Tony Armstrong as he congratulates Sam too…
The drop of the FIFA 23 cover is a nice little tease for the game, which is set to be released in September. To keep you going until then, a trailer for the game has just dropped Get a load of this:
Honestly, it’s rare that I get patriotic but I’m about to go and smash a meat pie in Sam’s honour. Sam for PM!
today. We’re not the only ones who are stoked to have @samkerr1 as our #FIFA23 cover star
