'Hell of a fixture' - Barnsley camp issue Bolton Wanderers and Ian Evatt verdict ahead of clash

Barnsley assistant boss Martin Paterson believes his side's clash against Bolton Wanderers is a 'hell of a fixture' in prospect and is not surprised by the success Ian Evatt has had in management.

The Tykes make the trip to the University of Bolton Stadium this Saturday. It pits seventh against sixth in the League One table.

Barnsley number two Paterson knows Bolton boss Evatt well after doing the UEFA Pro Licence course together in Northern Ireland. The former Burnley striker is not surprised by the Wanderers manager's success in the game as he spoke warmly of Bolton and th tough test it presents.

He said: "Good team. Really good team.

"Their last two games have not gone well for them, that makes our task even tougher going away. I know Ian very well, I was on my UEFA Pro Licence with him. I know what kind of character he is, he's a winner. Going away to Bolton in League One is one hell of a fixture, and when results haven't gone their way in the last two, they won the three before that.

"They'll be chomping at the bit to go and win a home game, so it will be a really tough task and we're fully aware of that.

"I'm not surprised at all. He's been successful in his management career, in his first post. He got obviously the Bolton post, which is a massive club. Again, spending time with him was a massive help for me to pick his brains on the course.

"On a personal level, I see him as someone who has been excellent with me, really open. Confident in what he does in terms of his coaching and management. Obviously, you see his body of work at Bolton and you can see clearly why he's a confident chap. He's got a good team there and they play some excellent stuff."
