Helen Skelton suffers home disaster after first BBC Strictly rehearsal as she shares candid glimpse into single life

Helen Skelton has shared that she has started rehearsals for Strictly Come Dancing in a candid glimpse into her new life as a single mum. Helen announced her split from her husband of nine years, Richie Myler, back in April. It came not long after welcoming their third child together.

"Very sad to say that Richie and I are no longer a couple," Helen wrote on social media. "He has left the family home. We will be doing our best to co-parent our small children." The emotional message was accompanied with two broken heart emojis. The couple share daughter, Elsie Kate, born in December, and young sons Ernie and Louis.

But Helen, 39, isn't letting it hold her back and last month, fans were thrilled to see the mum-of-three back on screen on Channel 5's Summer On The Farm which got off to a poignant start for the TV and radio star. And last weekend, the Countryfile presenter was the 15th and final famous face confirmed for the dance contest with the 2022 series line-up now complete.

After returning home from a rehearsal for the hit BBC One show, Helen took to her Instagram Story to share a story about what happened. It started with her eight-month-old daughter causing a little bit of a mess. Filming her little girl while also showing her top covered in a suspicious stain, Helen said: "A proud poonami face."

She then explained laughing: "Yes, that's poo all over my silk camisole." Realising what she said she then joked that she sounded like a 'lady from the forties'. The mum-of-three then returned to her page to share another clip, revealing that the confetti she brought home from Strictly to celebrate has stained her floor.

"First day at Strictly yesterday which was great fun but lovely Billy let me bring home the glitter for the kids to play which we did and it was fun." But warning her fellow Strictly celeb Ellie Taylor, Helen added: "Just be careful if you do play with the glitter it will gild your floor. I've got a gold floor now!"

The TV and radio star could be seen sat on the floor next to a brush to show off the marks on her floor where the gold pieces had stuck to her flooring.

Her little Striclty update comes after Helen's Summer On The Farm co-presenter Martin Hughes-Games admitted that the BBC show may need to take extra precaution with the former Blue Peter star. He jokingly told The Sun: "Helen's a bit dodgy to work with. She's a safe pair of hands but has to be reined in a bit because she has a tendency to be a bit wild."

He also revealed that Helen had a special editor when they filmed Summer On The Farm who had to monitor her "naughty" language. The 66-year-old told the publication: "We have someone from Channel 5 compliance, on set in South Yorkshire, who tells her that she mustn't say too many naughty things. Although of course there's always the chance that she might."

In a statement about taking part in the show after revealing the big news to Claudia Winkleman on her BBC Radio 2 show on Saturday (August 13), Helen said: "I’m really excited to get stuck into a fun adventure. My family and friends have always loved the show and can’t wait for me to get started."
