A source told the Sun: “It’s the perfect way to bounce back. Most people are absolutely desperate to avoid the Strictly curse but Helen would love it to give her some confidence back
“She’s a great signing for the show and enormously popular with viewers, especially after what has happened to her lately.
"Everyone on the inside thinks she could end up going a very long way.”
Other stars on the 2022 series will include Ted Lasso star Ellie Taylor as well as Matt Goss, Richie Anderson and Ellie Simmonds.
Helen Skelton announced her separation from rugby star Richie Myler in April, just months after the pair's third child was born.
Since the split, Richie has moved on and begun dating a new partner, the daughter of the rugby club's president, while Helen has been sharing a mix of glam and family snaps to her legion of loyal followers on social media.
