Helen Skelton has confirmed that she has not found love since her marriage breakdown.
Following the news that her ex-husband Richie Myler had a baby with his new partner earlier this month, the Countryfile presenter has been repeatedly asked if she is now dating.
The former Strictly Come Dancing and Blue Peter star split from rugby player Myler a year ago, five months after welcoming their third child together.
He swiftly moved on with new love Stephanie Thirkill and, despite the backlash from Skelton’s fans, the pair has flaunted the romance on social media and recently welcomed their first child together.
During an interview with Grazia magazine, Skelton admitted that unlike her ex she has not moved on to another relationship.
When asked if she had a boyfriend, the mother-of-three shared the response she gave when anyone asked her that question during her time on Blue Peter.
“I was travelling all around the world, and seeing and doing incredible things. And whenever I came home and caught up with people, all they would ask is, ‘have you got a boyfriend?’
“I was like, ‘no, but I’ve got a few world records’.”
The presenter’s shut down of the speculation comes after she addressed rumours on her BBC Radio 5 Live Sunday show that she is dating Strictly Come Dancing professional Vito Coppola.
The Mirror had reported that Skelton had “gotten close” to Coppolo while on the recent Strictly Come Dancing tour.
Her newsreader colleague teased live on air: “Just looking at the papers. Er, the front page of the Mirror is interesting.”
Skelton could be heard bursting into an awkward laughter before saying: "Put the papers down, thank you."
The presenter was married to Rhinos player Myler for eight years.
While Skelton has rarely spoken out about the break-up, she has admitted that she took part in last year’s Strictly because her marriage ended.
“I did Strictly this year because sometimes you just need to jump on the opportunity and chance to put a big smile on your face,” she said.
When asked how she felt about the news that Myler was set to welcome a new baby this year, she told The Telegraph: “You cannot have any opinion on anyone else’s life until you’ve walked in those shoes.
