Helen Skelton shares emotional tribute behind baby daughter's name

Helen Skelton has revealed the name of her third child and also announced the baby's gender and date of birth.

The Countryfile host, 38, had kept the information under wraps following giving birth last month but has finally gave the fans the info they were waiting for after previously sharing family snaps to social media.

The newest member of her family is a girl and the TV presenter admits she knew all along despite opting against finding out the baby's sex at the scans.

Helen and rugby player husband Richie Myler have named the tot Elsie Kate. They also share Ernie, six, and their second son Louis, four.

Speaking with Hello! Magazine, Helen revealed that she gave birth to her third child on December 28 and explained the couple's sentimental name choice.

She said: "We were always going to have Kate as a middle name after my cousin, who sadly passed away when we were in our 20s.

"I was really close to her, she was a scientist and crazy cool."

And she also told how baby number three was the biggest out of her brood, weighing 7lb 8oz at birth.

She continued: "Louis was just 5.6lb and Ernie was 7lb. I thought she’d be small, but she is my biggest bubba."

Helen admitted that while she already had two boys, her and Richie weren't trying for number three in a bid to get a baby girl.

She told the publication how the couple "wanted a surprise" but she was so convinced she was having a daughter that she painted the nursery pink in anticipation.

"Now I am totally embracing the pink," the star said. "With a rugby player and two feral boys, my world is testosterone-filled enough."

She announced the birth of baby Elsie Kate on New Year's Eve as she posted a picture of her hubby carrying their baby as they left the hospital.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Helen shared a snap of herself holding her baby's hand.

She wrote: "Still in a bubble. Not leaving anytime soon."

She went on to pay tribute to the NHS and her husband in a sweet follow-up post. Helen wrote: "Can always count on dickie .... of all the things he’s said (there’s been a lot) “don’t worry I will be your lido...” might be my fave. The man meant Doula.

"From the mouths of men. (pic from earlier this week - just haven’t posted partly because my mam likes the family what’s apps to be ahead of insta but mainly because I am still failing to find appropriate words of thanks for our @nhsengland @nhsmillion .... legends the blooming lot of them). #grateful #thanks # pregnancy #birth #newparents."
