Television presenter Helen Skelton has shared a bunch of behind-the-scenes Strictly Come Dancing photographs, saying she has already made '"memories to last a lifetime" as her Strictly experience gets under way. It comes as a number of this year's contestants took to social media earlier this week as rehearsals started for the 2022 series.
The 39-year-old Countryfile and On the Farm presenter took to Instagram on Thursday where she shared a reel featuring a number of backstage photographs of herself and her fellow contestants. The new series of the BBC dancing competition starts on September 17 when viewers will finally discover which professional dancer each celebrity has been paired with.
The photograph reel was set to the song 'Good Time' and included a photo of Helen alongside comedian Ellie Taylor holding a slice of pizza, snaps of the Strictly studio and a photo of most of the 2022 cast sitting on the iconic Strictly staircase. A couple of the pictures were selfies as she headed into hair and make-up and another showed her in a car with co-stars Kaye Adams, Fleur East, Matt Goss and Jayde Adams.
In the caption, Helen wrote to her 325k followers: "Totally understand why people rave about being part of this show in the way they do…. Smiles and laughter are infectious.
"Very grateful to be part of the class of "22" still in awe this is technically work. For however long it lasts I have already made memories to last a life time."
She received a number of comments from former Strictly Come Dancing competitors, co-stars, friends and fans. 2016 winner Ore Oduba replied: "Ahhh you're gonna love it Skelts" alongside two heart-eyed emojis and three clapping hands.
Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty, who competed in last year's series added: "Good luck" alongside a trophy emoji to which Helen replied: "might be calling for tips x". Former Emmerdale star and presenter Natalie Anderson commented: "Gorgeous! Have the best time love xx".
Helen joins 15 celebrities; Will Mellor, Kym Marsh, Richie Anderson, Kaye Adams, Jayde Adams, Ellie Simmonds OBE, Tyler West, Matt Goss, Ellie Taylor, Molly Rainford, Tony Adams MBE, Fleur East, Hamza Yassin and James Bye, as they all compete for the Glitterball trophy in the 20th series of the show.
The 20th series of Strictly Come Dancing kicks off on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Saturday, September 17.
