Helen Skelton seen with mark on cheek after fleeing street brawl

Strictly Come Dancing star Helen Skelton has been pictured with a mark on her face after fleeing a street brawl in Leeds in the early hours of the morning. The TV presenter and several BBC co-stars were caught up in the incident after going out for drinks on the latest stop of the Strictly live tour.

The Blue Peter presenter was forced to 'hide in an alley' following an altercation in which a man allegedly threw a glass bottle in her direction. As the star headed out on Sunday morning (January 29), Helen was seen with what appeared to be a dark mark on her right cheek.

It is unknown if the mark was due to the incident or makeup, reports The Mirror. The publication has reached out to Helen's representatives for a comment.

Helen, 39, was enjoying a night out post-show with Paralympian Ellie Simmonds, DJ Tyler West, singer Molly Rainford and professional dancer Neil Jones when things took a turn and the alleged incident kicked off. The Mirror reports Helen had performed at First Direct Arena as part of the tour before heading to the nightclub Dollhouse before moving to The Back Room.

A source said the group had been "having a great time" but were stunned when things "kicked off". They added: "Two groups of lads were fighting and bottles and glasses went flying. None of the Strictly people were involved in the fighting, they were innocent passers-by caught up in it.

"A bottle came close to hitting Helen, smashing right by her feet, but she jumped out of the way," they said. The added Helen appeared to shelter in an alley until the fight seemed to have dispersed after officers from West Yorkshire Police intervened and arrested a 35-year-old man.

A spokesperson for the force said: "At 2.56am on Friday, police were called to a report of a fight involving a group of males in Duncan Street and Call Lane in Leeds city centre. Officers attended and arrested a man on suspicion of affray.

"He remains in custody and enquiries are ongoing. There were no reports of any injuries."
