Helen Skelton has revealed she once enjoyed a stint on Coronation Street.
The new Strictly recruit, 39, used her time on the cobbles back in the day to break into the TV industry, and also appeared on other shows - including Cold Feet - in order to earn extra cash alongside her studies at university.
Helen - who is best known as a former Blue Peter presenter - went on to make a name for herself in children's TV after appearing on the ITV soap and deciding acting wasn't her vocation in life.
"I'm no actress, I mean I have so much respect for them. I'm always like, I watch you at work and it's a foreign language to me," Helen told The Express.
The Countryfile presenter appeared in a few Corrie scenes as a supporting actress as she tried to raise some funds during her time as a student, and even starred alongside a soap legend during her brief cameos on the Manchester-based show.
"It gave me - when you go and be on a set like that, I just got to watch how things were done and gain absolutely vital experience," Helen added when explaining how she used her extra stint to break her way into the world of TV.
"I was in the Rovers loads of times, so you just sit and drink grape juice, which they obviously put in there as wine. I had to stand next to Hayley Cropper a few times, so that was good."
Helen's Corrie confession comes as she and her fellow celebrity contestants prepare for the launch show of the 20th series of Strictly Come Dancing in just a matter of weeks.
The official trailer for the BBC ballroom dancing show premiered on social media earlier today [September 7] and the new famous recruits began rehearsing with their celebrity dance partners for the first time earlier this week.
On the Lorraine show earlier today, Helen laughed off 'fix' claims, after it was revealed the mum-of-three was a keen tap dancer as a young child.
After host Lorraine Kelly asked if she thinks the experience from over two decades over will help her on Strictly Come Dancing, Helen laughed and replied: "I find that so funny, you know they said 'It’s a fix! Helen’s a tap-dancing champion!'
After an eventful few months in her personal life, Helen will be focusing her attention to the dancefloor following her heartbreaking split from her husband, professional rugby player Richie Myler.
Their split comes after eight years of marriage and just four-months on from former Blue Peter presenter Helen giving birth to their third child together.
Helen initially shared the news of her split from Richie via social media in April. Her emotional Instagram post read: "Very sad to say that Richie and I are no longer a couple. He has left the family home.
"We will be doing our best to co parent our small children."
Alongside their newborn daughter Elsie Kate, the former couple also share sons, Ernie, six, and Louis, four.
Richie quickly sparked up a new romance with Stephanie Thirkill - the daughter of the multi-millionaire president of Leeds Rhinos.
