Helen Skelton's estranged husband 'met girlfriend at rugby dinner' when wife was six months pregnant

Helen Skelton's ex husband Richie Myler met his girlfriend for the first time when his wife was six months pregnant with their third child, according to reports.

Richie and his new partner, Stephanie Thirkill, both insist that they did not start a relationship until Richie and Helen separated.

Last month, the Countryfile presenter took to social media to announce that Richie had left their family home after nine years of marriage.

Shortly after, it was then revealed that he had started a relationship with 31-year-old Stephanie, who is the daughter of the multi-millionaire president of rugby player Richie's club, Leeds Rhinos.

The two were married since 2013 (PA)

Richie plays as a scrum-half and fullback for the team, writes The Mirror.

Their split comes just four months after the pair welcomed their third child, Elsie Kate, with the pair also being proud parents to sons, Ernie, six, and Louis, four.

According to The Sun, Richie and Stephanie reportedly met each other during a rugby dinner in Autumn last year. Helen was in the third trimester of her pregnancy.

The Mirror have contacted reps for comment.

Former Blue Peter star Helen shared the news of their breakup on Instagram last month, writing: "Very sad to say that Richie and I are no longer a couple.

"He has left the family home. We will be doing our best to co-parent our small children."

Helen and Richie married in December 2013.
