Helen Skelton shared how she was 'racing home' after the first shows of the Strictly Come Dancing Live tour. The former Blue Peter host is currently performing in arenas alongside several of her fellow 2022 alumni as the hit BBC show visits arenas up and down the country.
The 39-year-old will be performing to thousands of people across the string of shows after making it to the final of the dance contest last month. Helen was within touching distance of lifting the Glitterball trophy alongside professional dance partner Gorka Marquez but the pair missed out to Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystal.
But for Helen, the Strictly journey is continuing as she signed up for the show's big live tour, hosted by It Takes Two presenter Janette Manrara. However, she is doing it without Spanish dancer Gorka, 32, who is spending time with his family, which is set to expand later this year after he and Gemma Atkinson announced she was pregnant and that they are expecting a baby boy.

Instead, mum-of-three Helen, who shared her delight at her new friends' baby news, is dancing with Kai Widdrington. And the pair have already got off to a spectacular start as they have been crowned winners by the audiences at two of the shows during the opening stint in Birmingham.
And while heading back home on Sunday evening, Helen shared a message as she gets used to tour life. First, she shared a video from inside her pimped-up taxi which featured its own TV screens, and wrote: "Racing me back for school run," before thanking Silk Executive Travel for the journey.
"What a crazy, made few days. I mean... so much fun! If you came to the shows in Birmingham I hope you enjoyed it. And maybe you're coming to the next Strictly Live show and if you do, fingers crossed you have a blast!" She then admitted to 'having a lot to think about' as she raced home to be with her three children.
Following her first show with Kai over the weekend, Helen did show that she hadn't forgotten her main partner as she took to Instagram with a picture of the pair celebrating their first tour win. "Well that was fun @kaiwidd … " she shared before adding: "@gorka_marquez they loved your dances."
Helen and Kai's first official appearance together came after Gorka showed his support with a simple message. Helen shared her excitement for the tour in a post shared by the show's official Instagram page. The post was a photo of Helen and Kai, along with a short statement from the TV star which read: "Strictly has been the adventure of a lifetime and I'm so happy that it will continue on the live tour.
"I’m really looking forward to seeing the fans across the country and performing my favourite dances from the series. I can't wait!" And Gorka, who is engaged to former Strictly finalist Gemma Atkinson, was quick to respond to the post, replying: "LG Team," with Kai replying: "Let's go."
