Helen Skelton has heaped praise on her 'brave' daughter to mark International Women's Day. The Countryfile presenter took to Instagram on Wednesday (March 8) to mark the annual, global day which celebrates the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.
Helen, who was showered with support and praise herself while taking part in Strictly Come Dancing last year, shared a photo of her daughter, Elsie Kate, who turned one in December. The toddler, now 14 months, could be seen with her older brother Louis, five, surrounded by play apparatus at a leisure centre.
Helen, 39, captioned the action shot: "On International Women's Day seems only right to acknowledge the one-year-old (14 months) who is so blinking brave she joins the big kids at the circus... oh little lady can't wait to see you take on the world."

She then added: "Here's to the daughters we are blessed with and the big brothers who stand by them #womensday." Helen shares Elsie, Louis and eldest son Ernie, seven, with her ex-husband, rugby star Richie Myler.
Helen then flooded her Instagram Story with a string of photos of herself with the women in her life, from her Strictly 2022 co-stars to her close friends and family. "Wasn't going to but... just a little nod to some of the amazing women I am lucky to have in my life," Helen typed. "Too many to mention all but god there are some great women out there."
She then said: "And that's not even them all," saying that you don't take pictures all the time with your friends when doing 'everyday things'. "But my point is GRATEFUL FOR GREAT GIRLS IN MY LIFE," Helen typed before saying: "Sorry, found more," and continued to share more photos.
She then returned to her main Instagram grid and posted a photo of herself beaming while stood in a pool as she held her youngest up into the air on her recent holiday to Lanzarote. "Proscratinated A LOT over what to say/post …." Helen typed. "Not my place to tell anyone what kind of woman to be... But I hope my little lady turns out to be one that lifts other women up. Grateful for the good girls and guys that let them shine in my life."
It comes after Helen was linked to Strictly pro Vito Coppola after the pair went head-to-head in the final of the BBC One dance contest in December before hitting the road on the Strictly Live tour. The presenter was teased about the news stories on her Radio 5 Live show on Sunday (March 5) and quickly shut down any chat about her possible love life after splitting from Leeds Rhinos star Richie. Helen announced their separation back in April 2022.
She penned on her Instagram Story at the time: "Very sad to say that Richie and I are no longer a couple. He has left the family home. We will be doing our best to co-parent our small children." Richie and Helen share three children - Ernie, Louis, and Elsie Kate, who was born in the December before their split.
Back to now and as she wrapped up her latest appearance on Radio 5 Live, newsreader Steve quipped to Helen "Just looking at the papers. Er, the front page of The Mirror is interesting." In response, Helen thanked him for appearing on the show before she added: "Put the papers down, thank you."
