Helen Skelton’s husband Richie Myler appears to be in hiding since news broke that their marriage has collapsed.
The 31-year-old professional rugby league player has not been seen at his club, the Leeds Rhinos, for training since news emerged that his marriage to 38-year-old TV presenter Helen had come to an abrupt end.
Richie has not been seen at Headingley Stadium where the Leeds based team play and train since headlines began to surface on Monday.
While the athlete has also been absent from social media – failing to post or like messages on Twitter or Instagram while fans have speculated about the end of his relationship.
One follower has begged the scrum-half star to reconsider, writing: “come on bud - surely you can sort things out with Helen - you have 3 beautiful children.”
Fans of Richie and Helen were stunned on Monday when the Countryfile presenter revealed she had split from her husband.
Helen made an announcement on social media that she was no longer with her husband of nine-years.
Sharing a post on Instagram, Helen uploaded two broken heart emojis along with the statement: "Very sad to say that Richie and I are no longer a couple.
"He has left the family home. We will be doing our best to co parent our small children."
Helen and Richie tied-the-knot back in December 2013 and together they have three children all under the age of ten.
Their eldest is a son named Ernie who was born in June 2015, with seance child Louis arriving in April 2017.
The couple are also parents to recent arrival Elsie – their first daughter who was born in December last year.
Just one week before she made the shock announcement of the split, Helen appeared to enjoy a holiday with her three children – while Richie was nowhere to be seen.
She shared sun-soaked snaps of herself with her kids as she posed beside swimming pools and near the beach.
Helen previously discussed the loneliness she felt when she moved to France with Richie when he played for the Catalan Dragons rugby team.
She told You Magazine: "I didn’t speak the language and I felt so isolated that I used to go into the local tourist office just to talk to someone who could speak English
"The loneliness was crushing even though the French wives and girlfriends would invite me on their nights out, which was kind.
"I would try to keep up by laughing and nodding – then somebody would ask if I understood and I would say no. They thought I was bonkers."
The star also gave birth to her second child while in France – with Louis arriving at home in the kitchen essentially by accident as she couldn’t get to a hospital.
She told the Mirror previously: "I was in France and my husband was in England, and no one made it to me in time.
"So I gave birth with just my three-year-old next to me, repeatedly hitting me on the head with a plastic sword, because he thought we were playing dinosaurs. Terrifying. But I didn’t have a choice, I just had to get on with it."
The couple and their family moved to Leeds in 2017 after Richie signed with the Leeds Rhinos.
