Helen Skelton heartbroken as husband leaves family home four months after baby's birth

Helen Skelton and husband Richie Myler have split after eight years of marriage.

The Countryfile presenter made an emotional statement on her Instagram stories last night as she confirmed the sad news with her fans.

The mum-of-three revealed that her husband Richie had 'left the family home' as she opened up about her heartbreak.

The pair going their separate ways comes just four-months after the pair welcomed their third child, Elsie Kate.

They also share two sons together, Ernie, six, and Louis, four.

In her short statement, Helen penned: "Very sad to say that Richie and I are no longer a couple. He has left the family home.

"We will be doing our best to co parent our small children."

Helen's statement came shortly after the mum-of-three shared a cryptic quote about the struggles of motherhood.

The Countryfile star appeared to suggest she was having a tough time when she re-shared: "A mama is always full of emotions, full of love, full of anxiety and worries, full of exhaustion and lack of energy, full of mum guilt and doubt, full of pride in her kids, full of pure joy.

"She feels it all, that’s the beauty of her, she carries it all too, and yet she gets up every day and does it all over again."

Richie, 31, who is a rugby star who plays for Leeds Rhinos, has yet to publicly address his separation with Helen.

Helen and Richie have had a busy couple of months after welcoming their third child - and first daughter - Elsie Kate on December 31.

The proud parents shared the news on Instagram with fans as Helen posted a sweet snap of Richie carrying their newborn daughters out of the hospital.

"Can always count on dickie …. of all the things he’s said (there’s been a lot) “don’t worry I will be your lido…” while on route to hospital might be my fave. The man meant Doula. From the mouths of men," Helen penned at the time.

"But mainly because I am still failing to find appropriate words of thanks for our @nhsengland @nhsmillion …. legends the blooming lot of them," she added.
