Many parents are likely to relate to Helen Flanagan's latest admission after she suffers fresh 'mum guilt' in the lead-up to the festive season. The former Coronation Street actress, like many mums and dads across the country, is trying to keep on top her the Elf on the Shelf antics for her three children.
Helen, who is famed for playing Rosie Webster in the ITV soap, is doting mum to Matilda, seven, Delilah, four, and one-year-old son Charlie who she shares with footballer Scott Sinclair. And the mum-of-three took to Instagram on Monday evening to share how she'd dropped a bit of a clanger when it came to the previously mentioned festive character which has become somewhat of a Christmas tradition over the years.
"Mum guilt as two nights in a row I forgot," Helen typed alongside an image of two elves getting in a mess with some flour on a kitchen worktop. There was also a handwritten note to her children from the elves which said they were "so sorry" they were gone over the weekend.
"Santa needed our help in the workshop. We made snow angels and we had some fun last night," the message also added to the three kids. But while she's back on track with the elf business, Helen was excited to share her Christmas present to herself with her followers.
Posting pictures of her sand-toned bathroom to her Instagram Story, Helen penned: "So tomorrow I am getting a new bathroom." She then added: "My Christmas present to myself..." She also shared how she was looking forward to sharing the home transformation with her loyal followers.
Over the weekend Helen shared an adorable snap of her children cheering on their footballer dad. It showed her two girls looking excited at the University of Bolton Stadium as Scott's team Bristol Rovers played Bolton. Helen Instagrammed the picture of Matilda and Delilah wrapped up warm in red puffer coats as they pulled delighted faces for the camera.
"Cheering on daddy," she captioned the joyful picture and tagging in Scott and Bristol Rovers. It comes after Helen recently shared how she suffers 'emotional outbursts' before telling of her 'irritation' at people who are 'mean to mums'. The former soap star took to her Instagram Story to vent to her millions of followers.
Speaking to the camera Helen, from Bury, said: "Long story short, but I was really annoyed last week because... I won't go into too much detail but basically, I hate it when mums are made to feel uncomfortable. I didn't have Matilda young, but young-ish, and I've always gone everywhere with my kids like flown with them, trains, hotels, restaurants... I've always just gone wherever I want to go."
She continued: "And I just don't like it when you get people basically being rubbish towards you because you've got kids and you're a mum. I'm just babbling but that really irritates me when people are basically just mean to mums." Helen added: "I'm not going to go into the conversation too much because it's just too long but I get really, really annoyed when people aren't nice to mums.
