Helen Flanagan shares emotional breastfeeding post as she marks son's first birthday

Helen Flanagan has been in a reflective - and celebratory mood - on her son's first birthday. The former Coronation Street star had already gathered her loved ones together earlier this month to celebrate her son Charlie's big day as they're currently on a family holiday in Dubai.

Helen, 31, shares Charlie with her Preston North End footballer fiancé Scott Sinclair. She gave birth on Scott's 32nd birthday last year at the Royal Bolton Hospital, where she was also born. The Rosie Webster actress, from Bury, also shares two daughters Matilda, six, and Delilah, three, with Scott.

Earlier this month, Helen marked Charlie's soon-to-be first birthday with gorgeous new pictures of the pair together. She said giving birth to Charlie was one of her 'proudest moments'.

Now the soap star mum-of-three has taken to Instagram with a candid breastfeeding snap, opening up to her one million followers about their feeding journey.

Sat on a sun lounger in a black swimsuit with designer sandals and shielding herself from the sunny rays in a bucket hat, Helen said: "1 year of feeding you my precious baby boy.

"I’m not too sure when our feeding journey will come to an end... I am thinking I will keep nursing through the summer.. I think it’s a comfort to him with his teething... it’s great for flying to calm him. I love breastfeeding as I like the bonding ( I know you can bond with your babies in lots of ways Ofcorse).

"I like that it’s just something that I can do and that my baby needs just me. He’s likely my last baby and I want to soak this all up. I feel quite emotional about stopping. My hormones are stable when I breastfeed and I love not having a period and pms."

She went on: "I love looking down and seeing his cute little face and big brown eyes... I think it calms me if I feel anxious. Though I miss...

"Being able to have more time on my own with Scott. Being on my own (not for a long period I suppose just having more freedom). Being able to take the girls for one and one trips on their own."

Helen ended the post by joking: "I would say having perky boobs but that’s a long time gone now," and she was then soon receiving comments from her fans and followers.

@funkyfeefee said: " You enjoy it for as long as you both need it. You’re a great mum and a great role model."

"@hjgflanagan this is soo relatable, congratulations on a year of breastfeeding. Your little on," @beccalouis3 wrote.

@playtime_with_otis added: "Amazing mama so lovely to see."

Helen also took to her Instagram Story to share a photo of herself, Scott and Charlie shortly after he was born, wrapped up in a blue blanket and donning a tiny hat. She then shared a glam yet natural selfie of the pair with the actress writing: "1 year ago my heart was stolen forever."

The soap star, who has played Rosie in Corrie since 2000, also didn't leave her other half out, sharing an adorable picture of him with their little boy enjoying their time away.

"Happy Birthday to my boys," she started. "Charlie my baby boy that I have always dreamed of, there are no words for the love I have for him. Scott my one and only love him always."

Helen previously said her third pregnancy will be her last after suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum, an extreme form of morning sickness that causes severe nausea and vomiting, which she's had during all her pregnancies.
